By-Election Begins In Goa:
The By-Election for two assembly constituencies in Goa has started on Wednesday around 8 AM IST. As declared before the chief minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar is contesting from Panaji constituency, while from Valpoi constituency his cabinet member Vishwajith Rane is contesting.
This morning Manohar Parrikar used his right to vote and participated in the by-election on Goa.
Panaji, Valpoi By-Election Live Updates:
According to the election commission of India the polling will end at 5 PM, the chief electoral officer has already declared holidays for Panaji and Valpoi constituencies to avoid any hassle for the common people.
Siddarth Kuncalienkar won from the Panaji constituency with 919 votes in the assembly elections of 2017, however he resigned from that post to make way for Manohar Parrikar. This is the reason why the by-elections are being conducted.
Goa By-Elections Counting and Result:
Manohar Parrikar was one of the first voters to exercise his vote right at the Masson Amorim polling station.
Similarly the by-elections are also going on in Bawana in New Delhi and Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh.
As of now 25 % of polling was recorded in Panaji and Valpoi. According to the Chief Electoral Officer the counting for votes will be held on 28th of august. The results will be given on the same day.
Voting Underway In Delhi and Andhra Pradesh:
Similar to Goa, By-Elections are also being conducted in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh. In Andhra Pradesh, because of the death of standing Minister Bhuma Nagi Reddy from Nandyala the by-elections are being conducted. For more updates about BY-Elections in Nandyal( Andhra Pradesh) click the link.
In the nation capital, New Delhi the by-elections are being held in Bawana for the assembly position. The major party’s like BJP, Congress and AAP are looking forward for the result of by elections in Bawana.
