Sathya Marthand(Nandamuri Kalyan Ram) is a sincere journalist by profession who befriends Javed Bhai(Jagapathi Babu). By seeing the corruption in today’s society and due to a personal incident that happens to Sathya, he turns into a Guerilla warrior by wearing a Anonymous mask and brings justice to the system in unorthodox ways which alarms Minister Posani Krishna Murali. The hunt for Sathya(Guerilla warrior) starts and no one knows about Sathya’s second identity. Sathya finally gets caught and the rest of the story revolves around the reasons of right and wrong in the society and how normal public respond to it.
- Nandamuri Kalyan Ram (modified very well)
- Puri Jagannadh’s snappy screenplay
- Rawness in dialogue and emotions
- A good message in the end
- Love track
- Songs and dance
- Aditi Arya’s acting
Ism Movie Rating – 3/5
Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Ism’ already got some negative shade even before the release as many fans complained that 3 songs from the album were copied tunes and the only song to make some buzz is ‘ISM ISM Journalism’ song which is the main title track of the film. In the actual movie too, the songs were just diverting the audience from the actual narration popping up from nowhere. The love track was a bit on the down side and was too cinematic. The songs also hold no weight to the story. Coming to the good things, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram as Sathya Marthand looks totally believable as the crack-head journalist who wants to do something for the nation. We get the usual Puri Jagannadh’s snappy action sequences with bike and car stunts, we also get the raw and mad dialogue that’s comes as a bonus with a Puri Jagannadh’s movie. Hero beating up random strangers for the heroine, everyone talking in louder tones than usual, hero befriending the Villain, the raw emotion at pre climax, we get everything we want in Puri Jagannadh’s movie, but this time with a new story and a new screenplay which is excellent.
Ism Live updates, Public talk, Twitter review response, premier shows review rating:
There is a positive buzz in Tollywood for Ism and after Jr. NTR getting a hit through ‘Janatha Garage’, it’s time for Nandamuri Kalyan Ram to get into the hit list to go further in Tollywood. Kalyan Ram’s last film, ‘Sher’ opened up to negative responses which made Kalyan Ram work hard for this movie and we actually get to see all the hard work he has put into the film. Puri Jagannadh too, who lost his mark in Tollywood after delivering two medium hit-flops as ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’ and ‘Loafer’, has worked hard for the script which goes in line with ‘Temper’ and ‘Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu’, and as the movie delivers a social message, it is to be seen how well the audience will receive the movie.
