‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ was a masterpiece there’s no denying that, the way it vibrantly depicts dragons flying through the sky and explores the relationship between a mother and her long lost son was nothing short of phenomenal. Hopefully, the next one will be just as good, if possible, even better.

Number 9:-

Us; releasing on March 22, 2019.


After the success of his directorial debut ‘Get Out’ which was a creepy horror film, Jordan Peele once again takes the reigns of a horror film production. We know nothing of the actual story of the film all we know from the trailer is that it looks eerie as hell.

Number 8:-

Hellboy; releasing on April 12, 2019

The reboot of the cult classic ‘Hellboy’ series looks audacious to say the least, with the remarkable David Harbour playing the main lead its hard to envision this as a disappointment.

Number 7:-

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum; releasing on May 17, 2019

In the years since ‘John Wick 2’, the world of assassins has grown more conspicuous and dangerous. The beauty of the ‘John Wick’ film series is that it is well aware of exactly what it is, it does not try to engage too much with character development and exposition. It is a cold-blooded hitman film.

Number 6:-

Dark Phoenix; releasing on June 7, 2019

We finally get to see whats the story behind Jean’s barbaric avatar. This movie brings back pretty much the entire cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past’. This film would be a major breakthrough for Sophie Turner’s film career.

Number 5:-

Where’d you go, Bernadette; releasing on August 9, 2019


Richard Linklater is an underappreciated director, his films are not only realistic, but also serene. Based on the novel of the same name, the story is of a depressed mother who abandons her teenage daughter and goes missing.

Number 4:-

The Goldfinch; releasing on October 11, 2019.

Movie aficionados would recall a beautiful film released in 2015 called ‘Brooklyn’ directed by John Crowley, well, the same director is making another film revolving around a young American teenager who turns to a life of crime after his mother is killed in a terrorist bombing.

Number 3:-

Doctor Sleep; releasing on 8 November, 2019.

Nobody even realised there was a sequel to Stephen King’s ‘The Shining’ until it was revealed that Mike Flanagan (who’s previously directed ‘Haunting of Hill House’ and ‘Oculus’) was going to turn it into a feature length film.

Number 2:-

Masters of the Universe; releasing on 18 December, 2019.

For those who don’t know, ‘Masters Of The Universe’ was a very old cartoon series that had He-man as the main hero and Skeletor as the main villain. The producer for the film David S Goyer has been planning a reboot for quite some time now. This one might be a bit tricky to accomplish as it needs a lot of CGI and costume work.

Number 1:-

Star Wars: Episode 9; releasing on 20 December, 2019.

The third installment to the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy promises everything the fans have asked for. Daisy Ridley revisits her character as Rey. The previous 2 films have been monumental successes.
